In a spirit of blessing and intimacy, the council meeting of the 5th Church District of the Hungarian Pentecostal Church took place in Kótaj. The gathering brought together official delegates from the Roma congregations affiliated with the Hungarian Gypsy Missions International. Beyond joyful fellowship and heartfelt reunions, the meeting served as a platform for making significant decisions regarding the community’s future.

One of the key outcomes was the election of Miklós Rézműves as the future leader of the 5th Church District, with Péter Pál appointed as his deputy. Alongside the mission leader and his deputy, they will lead and oversee the district’s work, fostering unity and advancing ministry efforts within the community. Both men are national elders of HGMI and have faithfully served its congregations for many years.

The gathering was further enriched by preaching, worship, and messages delivered by the national elders, all contributing to spiritual renewal and strengthening.

“We are truly happy that our delegates came from all across the country. This created a remarkable opportunity for us to meet and reconnect. Since our congregations operate in various regions of Hungary, this day has been a wonderful experience and a time of blessed fellowship,” emphasized Albert Durkó, president of HGMI.

The event was also graced by the presence of ZsoltNémeti, Vice President of the Hungarian Pentecostal Church, who warmly welcomed participants and expressed sincere appreciation for the gathering.

“I was very glad to participate in this council meeting. It’s evident that the Roma people know where they’re going—they have purpose and a calling,” he affirmed.

The council meeting in Kótaj proved to be a moment of spiritual encouragement, meaningful connection, and strategic decision-making—further reinforcing HGMI’s unwavering commitment to faithful and dedicated service.
