Providing Warmth During Winter
During the harsh winter months, firewood donations are a vital source of relief, helping families sustain their daily lives. This year, FIDA International once again stepped forward to ensure that families facing hardship could stay warm. As part of its Sparks of Hope campaign’s Firewood Programme, the organization donated €5,700 to the Hungarian Gypsy Missions International. In January 2025, charity workers from the mission distributed this aid among those in need.
Continued Commitment from FIDA International
This is not the first time FIDA International has extended its support to the mission. In 2023, the organization also participated in the campaign, providing firewood donations. Thanks to this year’s contribution, funds were allocated to 12 CharityPoints, reaching 125 families across 23 settlements.
The recipients included both small and large families, some with 10–15 members living under one roof. This donation ensured they had heating during the coldest months of the year.
A Strong Partnership for Humanitarian Aid
The partnership between FIDA International and HGMI is long-term and plays a crucial role in supporting vulnerable communities. While HGMI operates in Hungary, focusing on Roma communities, FIDA International is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to various relief efforts. The Sparks of Hope campaign’s Firewood Programme is a key part of this collaboration, helping as many families as possible.
Distribution of Firewood Donations
The firewood donations were distributed across the following settlements:
- Berettyóújfalu
- Hajdúhadház
- Nyírvasvári
- Mátészalka
- Kótaj
- Sáta
- Verpelét
- Komló
- Zákányszék/Kiskunmajsa
- Kunágota
- Békés
This support alleviated a significant financial burden for many families, making winter more manageable.
Heartfelt Gratitude
We sincerely thank FIDA International for supporting the HGMI community for the second consecutive year. Initiatives like this not only provide essential aid but also offer hope to families facing daily struggles.
We look forward to continuing this collaboration in the future, ensuring even more families receive the help they need.
