speaker at the event

In October, the joint training program of the Hungarian Gypsy Missions International and Prepare International reached another important milestone, featuring a lecture by guest speaker Rinus van Kuil from the Netherlands. The event focused on two key topics: fatherhood and discipleship.

HGMI has a strong network of international connections and maintains a close partnership with Prepare International. The aim of the training sessions is to provide participants not only with theoretical knowledge but also practical guidance that they can apply within their own congregations and ministries. The themes of fatherhood and discipleship are particularly relevant to Christian communities today.

During his presentation, Rinus van Kuil highlighted that Christ’s command is not just about winning people over but about making them disciples. “Evangelism is just the beginning. Congregations need teachers, pastors, apostles, and prophets to build and guide them,” he emphasized.

In addition to his active ministry, Rinus van Kuil served for many years as a school principal in the Netherlands and was involved in founding 13 schools in Brazil. His background sparked a particular interest in the work of the Reményhír Institution, operated by HGMI. During his visit to the school, he was impressed by the focus on developing students’ creative skills, artistic talents, and spiritual life. “These skills provide lifelong value for the students, and it’s clear that dedicated and serious work is being done here,” he remarked.

Future sessions in the training series promise to further enrich the mission’s congregations with valuable knowledge and experience, while also strengthening international relationships. Both organizations are working together to ensure that participants are better equipped, both spiritually and practically, to lead their communities.
